Gary GuentHER, chief investigator at the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, stated that authorities are looking into the death of an inmate at Summit County Jail on Monday afternoon.
Leah Allison, who is 24 years old, apparently had trouble breathing around 4:15 p.m. According to Guenther’s report, officials quickly rushed her to the Summa Health emergency department shortly after.
When Allison reached the hospital, she was described as “alert and responsive,” according to a statement from Chief Bill Holland of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
Shortly after her arrival, she passed away. The reason for the demise of this Akron resident remains under investigation, according to Guenther. Her autopsy has been carried out.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office reported that Deputies from their department took into custody Alison around 8 p.m. on March 28th. She faces charges related to the possession of substances, totaling two counts.
The narrative has been refreshed.
