Who we are:

Enquiring Minds Want to Know is the brainchild of Jennifer Vass and Davina Gifford, two misplaced Australian law librarians living in London. We decided that if we were going to spend all of our free time ranting to one another about information and tech and the internets and how librarianship fits into all of that, then we may as well be playing to an audience! We are near (Jennifer) and recent (Davina) graduates of Masters in Information Management in librarianship (yes, we started at the same time at the university – how do you think we met?) We try and refrain from talking in unison, but do often speak in plural – we apologise for this.

We were writing under the names Hypatia (Jennifer) and Seshat (Davina). Hypatia was a Greek philosopher, mathematician and astronomer, who got herself killed in a messy and violent manner, and Seshat was the Egytptian goddess of writing and the deification of wisdom. Whilst these were cool screen names, we got bored of blogging anonymously and have decided to reveal our not-so-secret identities.

Where we are now:

We are both currently working in law firms in London (no, not the same firm) and no, we’re not telling you where (law firms just aren’t cool that way, yo).

  • Legal and legal library stuff
  • Other cool stuff that we like
  • LOLcats

Why we co-blog:

Co-blogging isn’t the popular choice in the biblioblogosphere, but it seems to work best for us. We went for it mostly because we felt that otherwise we would be wanting to talkabout the same issues in separate blogs, and there is no real need for yet more duplication. Also, it takes the pressure of us a bit – we are still hopelessly lax in our posting schedule, but there being two of us means that there is some chance of a semi-regular post. (Besides which, it means that Davina can proof-read Jennifer’s posts and take out all the terrible typos)
